We're proud to share that our partners at Verizon have launched Verizon AI Skills for America, a $70 million investment to prepare American workers and small businesses for the AI era.
The initiative combines $50 million in new funding with the $20 million Reskilling and Career Transition Fund. It gives job seekers, small biz owners, educators, and displaced workers free access to AI training from IBM, Google, Microsoft, Anthropic, Coursera, and OpenAI. Training like this can cost more than $700 per person per year.
Access alone isn't enough, so Verizon is pairing the content with hands-on local support from community organizations, including LISC, NACCE, and Goodwill Industries International. The program launches nationwide, with wrap-around services in select regional markets.
