Sodfather Inc. Landscape Contractors seeks to fill 18 Landscape Laborers positions.
Work site(s): Daily transportation provided to and from the worksites; begin in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, SC 29303 @ $12.16/hr. Continue into the counties of Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Spartanburg, Union, SC, Greenville-Anderson- Mauldin, SC MSA, Upper Savannah South Carolina nonmetropolitan area and Spartanburg, SC MSA. 6 additional positions also available in the Charleston-North Charleston, SC MSA. This is a temporary, full-time seasonal position from 04/01/2019 to 11/28/2019. Duties: Gather and remove litter; use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes; operate powered equipment such as mowers, chain-saws , electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws; water lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or water cans; prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using shears, pruners, or chain saws & other related Landscape Laborers activities as per SOC/OES 37-3011 (onetonline.org).
Requirements: Drug/Alcohol/Tobacco free work zone. Perform physical activities such as: lift, balance, walk, stoop, handle, position, move, manipulate materials use static strength to exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, carry objects up to 100 lbs. (possible 2-person). Must have 3 months Landscape exp. All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified and work throughout all areas of intended employment. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/ refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense.
Terms & Conditions of Employment: $12.16/hr up to possible $20.00/hr OT $18.24/hr up to possible $30.00/hr. Wage may vary. DOE. The wage(s) offered equal(s) or exceed(s) the highest of the prevailing wage or the Federal, State, or local minimum wage. Cash advances may apply at employer’s discretion. Possible daily/weekly hours: 7:00AM-5:00PM. 40+ (plus) to include lunch break M-F. Possible weekend/holiday work. (OT possible, but not required or guaranteed. If OT is worked, wage is paid at a rate of time and a half per hour worked beyond 40 hours each week.) Outdoors, exposed to weather; must be capable of doing physically strenuous labor for long hours, occasionally in extreme heat or cold. Variable weather conditions apply; hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime and/or OT. OT not required. This employer will also comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws pertaining to overtime hours.
Transportation: Transportation will be provided for cost from the place from which the worker has come to work for the employer, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. The worker is guaranteed employment for a total number of work hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays of each 12-week period. Tools, equipment & supplies: All work will be done with employer provided tools, supplies and equipment without charge or deposit. Miscellaneous: Will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Wage paid every two weeks. All deductions required by law will be done by the employer.
