What We Need:

We are currently seeking a Wireless Technician to join our team! We are currently offering a $1,000 Signing Bonus for this position. If you are looking for a place to grow your skills and share our values, read below and see if this role is a match for you. 

The Wireless Technician performs a wide variety of field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing wireless telecommunications equipment. This role works with other technicians in a team-oriented environment to complete various projects and tasks in a fast-paced environment.  

Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, repair, remove or retrofit various wireless systems, including rooftop macro, pole mount macro, and small cells, indoor distributed antenna systems (IDAS), and outdoor distributed antenna systems (ODAS)

  • Read blueprints and construction drawings

  • Determine and pull best path routes

  • Adhere to coax and fiber installation standards

  • PPC compression tool kit installation 

  • Installation of antennas including rooftop, racks, and remote units

  • DAS and small cell OEM installation

  • Label coax cables, antennas, and headends

  • Perform cable sweeps using spectrum analyzers for return loss, insertion loss, and distance to fault testing

  • Perform PIM testing and mitigation on cellular equipment   

  • Fusion splice fiber modes and connectors

  • Use OTDR for fiber reports and troubleshoot links

  • Operate a lift and/or bucket truck

  • Assist engineers and management on various tasks as needed

Managerial Responsibility

  • No direct reports

Travel/Shift Requirements

  • Ability to travel regionally for 60-80% of the time

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces

  • Ability to work with and around electrical wires and components and/or ESD products

  • Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites

  • Ability to repeatedly ascend and descend ladders and lifts up to 90 feet

  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments

Skills and Abilities Required

  • Experience reading blueprints or construction drawings

  • Experience in cable and/or hardware installation

  • Experience with hand and power tools

  • Experience with outdoor installation such as rooftop cell sites, satellites, cable TV installation, or tower/microwaves

  • Experience working at height including on ladders, lifts, or similar equipment and levels

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

  • Ability to conduct work in a timely manner

  • Ability to communicate professionally internally as well as with customers

  • Knowledge of telecom carrier standards preferred

  • Equipment testing experience preferred

  • Splicing experience preferred

  • Valid driver’s license

Education and Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 1 year of field installation experience

  • Wireless industry experience preferred
