W Food Group, operating as Dead Eye Dick's Restaurant and Dick's Fish & Provisions, seeks kitchen team members for the upcoming 2021 summer season on Block Island, Rhode Island. Block Island is a New England vacation destination with beautiful beaches, exciting nightlife, and a very busy tourist season. We are an independently owned, upscale coastal dining venue and market, creating innovative takes on classic New England dishes. Currently seeking enthusiastic cooks at various skill levels, willing to relocate to Block Island for the busy season.
Kitchen team members will ideally have the following qualities and abilities:
Experience in the restaurant industry with a desire to work in a high-volume seasonal restaurant
Prepare food to the specifications of the head chef.
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and restock as necessary.
Able to work with a team and communicate with coworkers effectively and coherently
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Clean up station and work using sanitary methods.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure under pressure
Willingness to rotate through stations: Fry, Saute, Grill, Garde Manger, Raw Bar, Prep
Ideal availability May 20 - October 12. $15 per hour starting rate, pay increases with experience. Overtime available and paid at time and a half normal rate. Dormitory-style housing is available within walking distance of the job site. W Food Group will reimburse travel costs (flights and additional transportation to/from Block Island) upon reasonable completion of the contract.
