Essential Job Functions of a Personal Care Aide (PCA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Position:
Provides patients' personal hygiene; activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals & feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning and position patients
Provides adjunct care by administering non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, and therapeutic baths
Provides patient comfort by transporting patients (if/when specified)
Documents activities by completing appropriate forms, reports, logs electronically.
Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
The qualified PCA must have at least two (2) years of experience working with the elderly in a home setting. The qualified CNA must possess and maintain an active license from the state of North Carolina and be in good standing with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
Candidates must work 3 out of 4 weekends. Candidates must be available for up to 60 hours per week, in total. Candidates may care for clients in the Triangle (Durham, Raleigh, Chapel Hill) and the Greensboro, NC areas.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Position:
2 years of experience in direct patient care preferred
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
A range of moderate to intense physical exertion is required to assist clients with personal care, lifts, transfers, cooking, and cleaning; regular standing, walking, squatting is required
Must demonstrate competence by exhibiting core skills including: technical knowledge, cultural awareness, analytical skills, decision-making, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and clinical skills
Knowledge of Universal Precautions and basic health and safety precautions
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Physical Requirements of a PCA and CNA:
The physical activities of this position involve fingering, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing and stooping.
This position may require occasional lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs. and regular lifting, pushing or pulling of 25 lbs. Lifting over 50 pounds would require assistance from another staff member.
· Pay will start at $11 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 32 hours ($352) per week;
· Roundtrip flight from PR to NC will be covered by the Employer;
· Housing and vehicle costs will be split 50/50 between the Employee and Employer;
· Any required education and training costs, such as tuition for the CNA course or CPR, will be covered 100% by Employer.
